    "Upon arrival I carefully explained to the service person that I wanted the oil changed and that on a prior service experience the windshield wipers were changed {without our having asked for the exchange}, even though we had just bought and installed a set of silicone wipers that were rated highly by Consumer Report. I thoroughly explained that the wipers which his service department had installed on that occasion, FROM DAY ONE, had been making a "chattering" noise with each swipe across the glass, and that maybe if they'd look at them they were installed improperly or something. I was there on the Thursday {my onl;y days off are Wednesday and Thursday}when there were nearly fifty wrecks on the ice-rain-snow slicked roads with three deaths in crashes, I had just passed through a six-car pile-up, and it was still sleeting and snowing as could be seen from the window. I had to get back to Cape Girardeau at the end of the service, and had cancelled right there in your office my long-standing appoint with Dr. Lehman so I wouldn't have to stay any longer than I had to do so. I was enormously surprised when the service agent returned shortly and, with other customers present, said that replacement wipers were going to cost something like $44.00. Not right, considering that the new wipers that were replaced by your team worked perfectly, had practically no use at all, and that the BMW wipers were completely inadequate on the driver's side and were actually dangerous. The only reason I went for the exchange in the first place was because, as much as I like BMW products {I've had a bunch of them} I assumed that whatever wipers were exchanged would be, if anything, better than what was on the car no matter the condition or age. This has been the only example of this kind of representation by your service department in my experience.     "I brought my car in for an engine light on my Driver Info Display. The repair was covered under warranty. That part, I'm fine with. The problem is that I was billed $34.50 for something called a Standard OPS/Scope. If the repair was under warranty, the diagnosis should be as well. I was told the car was calling for an oil change. At no time did I knowingly authorize this to be performed, especially for $90.10. I can change my own oil for a fraction of that price. I stated when I made the appointment and on the day of the appointment that I did not want to do any work that was not covered under warranty but somehow that was ignored. After my car was done, I went to sign the paperwork, and to my surprise, there was a bill for $120.86. I am thouroghly dissappointed with the fact that my request was ignored and find it unethical to charge for diagnostic work when the problem is covered by the warranty. If I did sign a work order with these services to be performed, it was slipped through like a bill in congress. I have serious reservations about ever bringing my vehicle back to have any service done because I feel as if I was lied to.
