I spent the better part of a month researching and scouring the Internet for what I hoped was my perfect first Mini. After much debate I had settled on either a Countryman or Paceman; just needed to decide if I needed the extra room the Countryman provided or if I preferred a sportier version with two doors. I haven’t had much luck with buying pre-owned recently, so I wanted to make sure this time around I purchased the vehicle from a dealer that knew Mini and could ensure my needs were being met. So what better place to start than THE Mini dealer in the St. Louis area; of course it also helps that I see their advertisements every morning during the news. I began searching the CPO inventory at Mini of St. Louis, and quickly found what I was looking for, a 2013 Cooper S Paceman All4. Of course it took me the better part of three weeks to actually get into the dealership. During that time I corresponded over email with Bill Harada who was polite and punctual with his responses. We had agreed on a date when I would come in to test drive the vehicle (of course I watched it daily hoping it didn’t sell). And when that day finally came… boy was I excited! I pulled up to see the car already sitting out front ready and waiting. I introduced myself to Bill and he quickly got my wife and I into the car so we could take it out for a drive. The minute I pulled away from the dealership I knew this was the car for me. While I still one day may have a MCS hatchback (thank you The Italian Job), the Paceman was definitely a great first step into the world of Mini. The negotiation was fairly straightforward, I knew what I wanted for my trade, and Bill and the Sales Manager worked with me to get to an agreed upon figure. Maybe 15-20 minutes tops. The finance side of things was a little more drawn out (no fault of the dealership), as this was our first time dealing with freezes being on our credit – thank you Equifax! It took a couple hours to get all that straightened out with the credit bureaus, even though we thought we had done enough that morning before making the trek to the dealer. However, once that was resolved Mary McDonnell took great care of us. All and all a pretty painless process… and the ability to do the paperwork electronically (cool touchpad technology!) made it even better. At the conclusion of the paperwork we hooked back up with Bill who took the time to walk me through all the ends and outs of the vehicle. Bill was very thorough - much to my wife’s dismay (4-hours at the dealership takes its toll), as he explained all the different features and technology. I was very impressed with the level of service, something I didn’t get with my last two purchases. I would highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a Mini give Mini of St. Louis a strong consideration, the professionalism, and attention to detail was exemplary. Since the sale, I have also heard from Bill making sure I was happy with the vehicle and to inform me to reach out if I had any questions or concerns. A nice touch and something that you don’t always receive from other dealerships.

As an owner of a 2011 Mini Cooper, I was ready to move up to a 2018 model. I met with Mark Conn. He was very knowledgeable about the different options available, and quoted me a matter-of-fact, no nonsense price. This is the way car buying should be! It took about 8 weeks for my new Mini to be manufactured to my specifications, shipped from Europe, and delivered to the dealer in St Louis. I was notified as soon as it arrived. I came in and met again with Mark Conn, who handed me over to Mary McDonnell, the Business Manager. Again, all the paperwork was clearly explained and very straightforward. After the conclusion of the lease papers, Mark accompanied me to the new car and patiently explained every little detail that was new or different from my previous Mini. I was impressed that he called and e-mailed me the very next day to make sure everything was going OK and that I had not encountered any problems. This is a very professional organization. I only wish they had a branch a little closer to my home. But it's worth the 25 mile drive to Mini of St Louis.
