Drivers might not immediately associate the new MINI Countryman with ruggedness, but it does have a surprising number of capability features that give it an edge in a range of driving conditions.
Available all-wheel drive provides superior grip on slippery surfaces, and several driving modes, such as Green, Mid and Sport, allow drivers to react to real-time road conditions with optimized vehicle responses. An available hill descent control feature keeps your Countryman in place when descending or stopping and starting again on an incline. When properly equipped, it can even tow up to 2,000 pounds of cargo, enough for a trailer and an ATV or a personal watercraft, like a Jet Ski.
The Countryman offers several engine designs, depending on trim level. The base Cooper engine is a three-cylinder turbocharged design offering 134 horsepower, with a more powerful four-cylinder design offering 189 horsepower in the Cooper S trim. The John Cooper Works ALL Four trim offers an impressive 301 horsepower from its four-cylinder design.
